Horizon Plaza and Autism Centre for Excellence (ACE) celebrated World Autism Awareness Day

Gurugram, April 2nd, 2022: This World Autism Awareness Day, Horizon Plaza and Autism Centre for Excellence (ACE) joined hands to raise awareness for Autism and augment support towards acceptance and inclusion of children living with autism and special needs into mainstream society.

Globally, the prominent landmarks and commercial buildings have been spreading awareness regarding autism by being a part of ‘Light It Up Blue’ awareness campaign. This World Autism Awareness Day, DLF Horizon Centre and the surrounding plaza in Gurugram took on a blue hue on the evening of 2nd April, 2022 to show support towards the cause and encouraged the public to support people living with autism and promote equality, equity and inclusion.

Ms. Pushpa Bector, Executive Director, DLF Retail says, “We are honored to partner with the Autism Centre for Excellence (ACE) and participate in the ‘Light It Up Blue Campaign’ to raise awareness about people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. At DLF Retail, our efforts have always been skewed towards encouraging a more inclusive and equitable society. We have showcased solidarity towards the cause in the past by lighting up our other retail properties such as DLF Promenade. Through this collective initiative, we intend to inspire change and mobilize action to raise awareness regarding autism.”

Dr. Archana Nayar, Director, Autism Centre for Excellence shares, “On April 2nd, we shined the light on autism, to acknowledge individuals and families that live with this condition. We acknowledged their successes and challenges, and we pledged to include them in the larger community as our own. True inclusion comes from understanding and accepting those that are unique and different from us and by celebrating these very differences.”

In addition to the lighting activity, there were live music and dance performances for the community as well as Autism related interactive information and game booths. As part of the celebration, DLF Artisanal Market by HandpickedByPC was also organized at DLF Horizon bringing together small businesses which make natural and small batch produce and natural growers, all under one roof.
