New Delhi: Suraj Nirwan, Tabla player from Delhi Gharana With a vision to enhance the beauty of our traditional Indian classical music globally, Suraj is setting new milestones every day. His playing style is so sweet and graceful that the people listening to the mantra get mesmerized. Excellent Tabla Singing Presentation by Suraj Nirwan of Delhi Gharana at High Commission of India, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Suraj Nirvan’s performance enthralled the audience. He started with a ati vilambit (very slow) rhythm, gradually increasing the tempo to middle (medium) and very fast (very fast). He played ‘Shuddh Dilli Baaz’. They systematically expanded according to the tradition of the Delhi style, starting with Peshakar, ending with graceful forms of qaida, gat, relay, tukde and ‘na din din na’. He also played his own compositions which were demanded by the audience as ‘once more’
The event was officially organized to mark the appointment of Tabla Guru Pt. Suraj Nirwan and Yoga Guru Atul Kuksal as teachers by the High Commission of India, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Both the gurus are currently at IGCC centers in Dhaka and Gulshan to teach Tabla and Yoga respectively. Yoga students also gave their skillful presentation in this program. Suraj enthralled the audience with his melodies and unique tabla playing style that focuses on dynamism, left-right balance and syllable precision.
The event was attended by eminent personalities like former Bangladesh Minister of Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor and Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Mr. Vikram Kumar Doreswamy, who appreciated and felicitated him.
